II EAST CLARE

County Clare is well known for Traditional Irish Music, spectacular scenery along the Wild Atlantic Way, awe inspiring views from the Cliffs of Moher and wonder at the unique landscape of The Burren.

East Clare, however, is a less well known but equally unique part of the county. It presents a mystical and hidden land where diverse cultures intertwine in a place where health and wellness are to the fore in everything people do.

It has a distinct character of its own, different to other parts of Ireland. Here mountains, lakes, rivers and winding lanes are the backdrop to Irish Traditional music with a style of its own, and creative artists and craft workers of all disciplines around every corner.

It is a land rich in fishing and outdoor lifestyles that give a sense of time having stood still, where people are in harmony with land, water and nature. It is a truly peaceful place, where idyllic holidays are created from the variety of activities on offer from owner run businesses.

East Clare covers roughly 400 sq miles, with the town of Ennis to the west, Limerick to the south, the Slieve Aughty Mountains to the north, and the ‘Pleasure Lake’, Lough Derg, forming its eastern boundary.
